What are the applications of PTFE bellows in engineering technology?

PTFE corrugated pipes and stainless steel metal hoses have similar effects, compact appearance, high strength without mechanical impurities, good chemical stability, corrosion resistance, sealability, self-lubricating non-stickiness, electrical insulation and good anti-aging ability. It can be used for a long time at -60 ~ 250 ℃. It has reliable and good corrosion resistance and is used to transport strong corrosive media at high temperature.

Because of the special shape of heat-set PTFE bellows, the bellows can undergo large deformation under the effects of axial force, lateral force and bending moment. Compared with the smooth light pipe, in addition to having sufficient strength, it also has greater flexibility and high fatigue resistance under the effect of cyclic stress. The application of bellows in engineering technology requires only a few points:

The first is as an elastic element, which is mainly used for various types of measuring, adjusting, and controlling instrument's sensitive elements, compensation elements, connectors and seals. This type of bellows is generally small in size, good in linearity and high in accuracy. It is mostly obtained by electrodeposition. As a bellows for elastic components, the manufacturing method, accuracy control and testing requirements are uniformly different from those for bellows. See related monographs.

Secondly, as a metal hose, the metal hose is composed of a corrugated pipe, a mesh sleeve and a joint. The corrugated tube is the main body of the metal hose and has a flexible effect. Metal hoses can be used to meet the needs of displacement of the working end of the pipeline, such as plastic hot-pressed gas, steam delivery hoses on the sliding platform of printing and dyeing dryers, infusion pipes for railway tank car loading and unloading, and oil pipelines for ships. In addition, the metal hose in the pipeline can also compensate for the azimuth deviation in the pipeline and absorb the piping oscillation. The bellows for metal hoses are generally Φ10 ~ Φ400mm.

The third is the bellows for the expansion section of the flexible section, which is mainly used to compensate the axial, lateral and angular displacement of the pipeline or equipment due to temperature differences or temperature fluctuations. At the same time, it can also absorb the vibration of the high-frequency machine inlet and outlet pipes.
